Half Man
Never has a show impacted me quite this much.
Richard Gadd should be given complete artistic freedom on anything he wants to create in the future.
The dialogue in this is something else, especially that hospital scene, and the conversations these characters have are completely fascinating yet realised.
Their dynamic works so well as a brilliant analysis of masculinity and vulnerability.
I also adore the idea of society progressing whilst Niall is unable to move with it.
The main four performances are utterly visceral and fantastic, especially in conveying their aging and maturing (or lack thereof).
I enjoyed this structure immensely and each episode creates such a beautiful arc that lends to the overall arc of the show.
Ruben's character generates so much tension through the fear of the unknown of what he's going to do next or how he's going to react.
At the same time Niall is completely predictable in his dependence on his brother but the tension lies in us praying that he wont do the exact same thing again.
This is seriously magnificent and that final conclusion to the moment we've seen being built up over weeks of episodes is seriously astounding.
Also I’m kinda tired of the strangely fetishistic conversation online around any gay media rn.
