Apocalypse Now
You know, this has been sitting on my watchlist long enough, so I decided to finally check the cut I had available (the Final Cut) instead of waiting more time for the theatrical cut to appear in any streaming service.
And holy fuck... this completely blows whatever I had in mind for this movie and what it would be like. I've watched movies like Platoon or Full Metal Jacket, and I thought it would go on the same vein, but it had some onirical grip, a spiritual reach those other two movies didn't have on me at all (even the Kubrick movie, which I still really like). The whole mystique evoked by Marlon Brando's character was unbelievable.
I have to rewatch The Godfather since it has been quite a while, but Apocalypse Now might be my favorite Coppola movie. One of those you have real high expectations and manages to be even better by a whole mile, a extremely rare feat.
The horror... the horror...
