Superman

All these criticisms say more about us than about Superman himself. As viewers, we often feel embarrassed by grandeur, pathos, sincere emotion, and clear symbolism – even though we react just as strongly to irony and humour meant to soften that very pathos. What I loved about Superman (in the comics and now in the 2025 movie) is that it shows that sincerity, heroism is not something so be ashamed of. It is also why I’ve seen the movie twice in the span of two days.
