Scarface
~”*BALLS”

After putting this off for so long because of its monstrous run time I finally for the first time ever sat down and watched this legendary film, and yeah it’s fantasic. Everything about this film artistically is perfect, the way the score switches between upbeat 80’s sensationalism and the really sinister major horror-like themes, the contrast of the colourful background of Miami against the graphic and at points horrific depictions of violence, this is maybe Al Pacino's best acting role I’ve seen yet. Tony Montana is absolutely pathetic, a small insecure and wretched man only scary because of his money, and it is Great. his character transformation throughout the film is brilliant. An absolutely amazing and over the top crime epic and an incredibly heavy handed critique of greed, corruption, the exploitation of immigrants in the US and the American Dream.
