i really didn’t know what to expect going into this but damn was this fantastic. wonderfully understated and subtle in all of the right ways. just everything about this worked for me. such an interesting exploration of power and its misuse among a million other things. thought the cancel culture stuff was going to get heavy handed but todd field walked the line perfectly. cate blanchett will almost certainly win and oscar for this and deserves to (as much as it will pain me for michelle yeoh not to win). the movie also looks great and sounds great. this just delivered on every front for me. one of my favorites of the year.
