Genuinely scariest movie I’ve watched. This doesn’t mean it’s the best movie ever, just like the most frightening.
It’s so dark, so quiet, so boring and yet. There’s something happening, something that’s off. In all this darkness we feel like something is gonna happen.
Obviously it helps that there are like 4 jump scares in here that are all pretty much horrifying especially that last one. Not the biggest fan of jump scares but some of these are warranted.
It’s just such an odd movie. I’m sure I watched this the right way. That is headphones on, all the lights off and focused on the screen. Really immerse yourself into the movie.
I don’t really know what my review of this is cuz I do think it’s really scary but the story makes like no real sense, anyways at face value, and a lot of the movie is just still shots of walls. That said I’m leaning more on the side of masterpiece than piece of shit. I feel like this is a very personal movie. I watched it dreading what was in the dark whilst others didn’t really care it seems. To me this works wonders at recapturing the fear I felt as a kid when I walked around the house at night. And for that honestly I might give it 5 stars.
