Fail Safe
Yeah this is definitely Sidney Lumet’s best film. I, like every other living soul, love 12 Angry Men, but this somehow tops it. I did not think the movie would stick the landing at all. I had a knot of stress and anxiety in my chest the entire movie and I was just waiting for some generic happy thing to happen and ruin it. I thought the dialogue about war good/war bad was going to get stale and lose its poignancy, but nope. What a devastating film. This is a masterpiece and I honestly can’t tell if this or Paths of Glory is my favorite anti-war film now.
