Thief

Up from 4.5 Stars  I watched this movie a little over a year ago for the first time and I said it had the potential to go up to 5 stars on a rewatch depending on how it held up, or potentially improved. Safe to say, this movie improved after letting it sit in my mind for a while. For some reason I remembered this movie ending about 20 minutes earlier than it actually does, and it ending with James Caan getting blown up in his car lot (????). I’m very glad that the actual ending isn’t anything like that because that’s stupid LOL.  Anywayyyssss. During this rewatch I’ve decided comparing this to Heat doesn’t make sense. Aside from both movies having a heist in them, the movies are going for very different vibes. This movie is going for an incredibly cool, slick thriller vibe, and wow does it pull that off and then some. I was enthralled with this movie. It was edited to perfection, and has one of my favorite movie scores. It’s also shot way better than I remember it being shot. When the heist scene came on and they started melting through the door. Speechless. What an absurd angle. Those sparks are just something else to look at. This movie is perfect. I love it as much as Heat.
