i watched this for the first time in 2020 and i was in complete shock. you see, being a fresh 12 yo with no idea of what the real world is like, living a life of being told what to do and how to act, and a very religious family, i had no idea how to process this anime. it was not only a heart touching and breaking anime but something so.. real? i know a lot of people now, in 2026, find a lot of comfort in queer media with similar experiences and i’m so glad animes like these exist to provide that comfort. my gosh.. i have all the mangas, and i read them RIGHT after i finished all the movies and it was truly wonderful. fuyo na hanashi 🌞
