NANA
i will never be able to explain what nana makes me feel or how i related to it. the pain i felt as the episodes progressed and knowing the inevitable ending, which is Hachi will remain unhappy unless someone drags her out of this hole she had dug herself into. she will continue to live a life where she has to fear looking into the eyes of the people who loved her because they gave up so much for her, she has to force herself to accept the life she has given herself, she has to love her kids; Satsuki and Ren, she has to continue on living the nightmare that is life. meanwhile, Nana will never get to see Ren’s face sgain. she will feel guilty for existing, everyday she will be reminded of the day it happened, the day he died, the day she was born, the constant hell that will be her life. she will run away and dye her hair blonde and everything will be okay. she’s in a new band and in a new place and with a new name, she is lively and she is happy. but it’s been five years, ten years, twenty years and fifty years and Hachi is waiting for her. the complex layers in Nana is what breaks me, the relatability, the ability to capture these horrid feelings is what breaks me. Takumi ruined two lives, destined two more for hell, and now TrapNest will never be the same, the thing he cared about the most, more than Hachi, more than Reira, more than his unborn daughter and more than anything else is gone and that is what he deserves. i absolutely hate Takumi and Reira and i love everyone else. i also felt like Junko and Ryu were not a good friend to Hachi at all, they were always Shochi’s friends, Hachi was someone that tagged along #relatable..... anyways, this manga touched me, heart and soul. i hope one day i can also move on, and this manga will remain dear to me.
