Perfect Blue
everything about this was perfect. the little details, how mima and her band mates stood out compared to all the other people because they were idols - they had perfect faces, perfect dress, perfect everything but then the regular people like the camera crew or as simply as passerby's were just meek. that's why the stalker stood out, too. he was ugly. not just ordinary but ugly. everything about him was off-putting. from his first appearance to when he had blood all over his eyes, his bug eyes, creepy smile and haunting aura followed mima wherever she went. but he was not her biggest problem. her problem was herself. she felt like she was doing something wrong by leaving her band mates and doing something out on herself. everything that was said about her from the media to her manager and everything was getting to her and making her feel further and further away from perfect. suddenly she was no longer perfect - her face wasn't perfect, her dress wasn't perfect, everything was not perfect and that's not who she was. she was used to being this person of stature, this person who was adored by everyone but now she was haunted by a face that was her own and me-mania was just a literal interpretation of it. i'm never stopping recommending this.
