Holy perfection. Genuinely every single second was amazing. I am a complete sucker for a well-executed metaphor, and boy was this well-executed. Fantastic exposition, really excellently set everything up, each character so well-created and purposeful. Little Sammie's performance in Club Juke was absolutely amazing; single-shot sequence with the transcendence of Black culture a beautiful centrepiece. I literally felt like I was levitating (possibly due to the camera shot). Listening to 'I Lied to You' again whilst writing this. The soundtrack was just too good.  To top it all off, we got Michael B. Jordan in that vest, literally what more can you ask for?? There's honestly too much to say about this film. And yes I did cry at one point.  I’m going to stop adding to this review otherwise I’ll be here forever.  SO mad I didn't watch this in cinemas.
