Cowboy Bebop

Rewatched this for the first time in over 5 years and felt the spirit of my 18 year old self jolt up like the undertaker as soon as that intro started.  An existential cyberpunk space western jam packed with crazy characters that accentuates the fragmented technologically fuelled loneliness to come but always approaches the present moment with a joyous and childish sensibility. This alone is exactly my kinda thing but you then also add in its utterly flawless presentation with a dub which to this day is regarded as the gold standard and one of the best soundtracks of all time - yeah this thing just soars This was my first anime too so you can only imagine the crushing disappointment I had when I found out 95% of them are mega cringe and not even half as human or stylish
