Death Note

First half is insanely good - then idk they kinda lost the sauce. Still engaging enough to follow along but some of this gets a bit cringe. Misa had quite a few lines that made me roll my eyes and *that *scene referencing the bible was doing way too much to justify its inclusion. Personally it completely took me out of the plot due to how heavy handed it was. There could’ve been a far subtler and natural way to make such a reference and please the fan fiction people. Worth a watch for the atmosphere, music and animation but nothing beats that mental game of cat and mouse you get in the first 15 or so episodes of the show. Just a shame the quality of the writing and its style of comedy takes a hit.
