Woah. One rewatch of this and I legit think that every Gore Verbinski feature film can’t possibly be below a 5 star rating. I absolutely love The Ring because it’s honestly just cinematographic art; looking at this thing is truly amazing. It doesn’t always seem like it makes perfect sense, yet the clever use of somewhat familiar imagery allows us to revel in the blasphemous mutilation of the natural world. That sickly, desaturated, murky tint across the screen is the chef’s kiss.
