Lost Highway

“You’ll never have me” I’m a huge fan of Lynch, and this has always been one of my favorites of his, however, for some reason something clicked this time, i’ve always had trouble fully comprehending the psychological complexity of this film, only this time, don’t know if it was because of my mood or the time of day, but something just clicked, and i can’t look back. This is such a uniquely dark spiral into insanity, showing the darkest and sludgiest parts of someone’s psyche, ego, pride, jealousy, insecurity, it all ends up meeting in the same road, the same highway, and no matter how much you try to run from it, once you’ve left those thoughts crawl into your consciousness , they never come out. Such a fascinating portrait of the fragility of the male ego, filled with style and that unique 90’s edge to it, and of course, the cherry on top being Lynch’s twisted mind being able to conceive this, which i’m glad he did.
