So this is what it feels like…
Quite simply one of the best comic book films ever made. It's a thoughtful, soulful and emotional film that breaks most almost every rule in the blockbuster playbook. James Mangold understands Logan in many ways other filmmakers couldn't. James Mangold was given the freedom to let Logan play out like the final X-Men film and that gives this more consequence than any other superhero film. Where the film leads to is inevitable and necessary, but it doesn't make it any easier. With its powerful final image, one gets the sense of finality has now been placed on not just the Wolverine character but the X-Men series as a whole.
Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were both robbed of Oscar nominations that year!!
I usually don’t get too personal on here, but I’ve been taking care for my father who has been a paraplegic for the past 6 years so admittedly some of the scenes between Logan and Charles really hit a little too close to home.
