The Witch

*“Corruption, thou art my father.” * This is a stunning film about the horrors of religious fundamentalism and how it can lead to paranoia and hysteria.  The VVitch lures us into the minds and bodies of those who are terrified, constantly, that they have forfeited the mercies of God. It brilliantly presents the concept of original sin while also deconstructing the damage that can be done with the promise of grace. Fear will only perpetuate itself.  “My corrupt nature is empty of grace, bent unto sin, only unto sin, and that continually.”
