Obsession
So glad to see Curry Barker getting all the praise after following his comedy career for a while. This was AMAZING, the way the shots lingered with Niki sitting in the shadows, only able to barely make out her features.
The acting was the standout here, Inde Navarrette was incredible in particular. Really everyone was great, but she definitely stood out. The scenes of her physical acting were some of the most unsettling things I’ve seen in a while, and when she “switched” back and forth she really showed her range.
The score was another standout here and it was something I noticed for the entire runtime. It obviously was able to hit the horror/unnerving notes, but it also reliably hit some really happy and hopeful notes throughout. The super different tones of the music helped to sell the weirdness of Niki’s condition.
That ending too, my god it was awesome.
