Cold Storage
FUCK IT! I LOVE COLD STORAGE! YOU GUYS CAN JUDGE ME IF YOU WANT, BUT I DO NOT CARE! I HAVE NEVER, EVER BEEN HAPPIER!
Seriously, I loved this movie. I am the target demographic for Cold Storage and I do not care who knows it. It feels like the child of Nick Cutter’s The Troop and John Carpenter’s The Thing. Admittedly, the child may be a little bit inbred, but it’s lovable anyway.
Using I Get Around in the title sequence for a movie about a killer contagion cracked me up and charmed me endlessly. I love when movies feature The Beach Boys in their soundtrack.
The comedy as a whole was very solid, now that I think about it. The one-liners were well placed and delivered nicely.
It is very likely that I will come back to Cold Storage again in the future. It’s both silly and spooky enough that it tells its story properly, without taking itself too seriously.
I’m going to read The Troop again and pretend that Max and Ephraim got the happy ending they deserve, just like Travis and Naomi.
