WALL·E
i can’t help but rewatch Ratatouille and Wall-E as of late. they’re equally nostalgic for me as they are genuinely profound and artistic in their messaging. both of these films feel like indie films disguised as Disney movies.
Wall-E is so beautiful, so hopeful. it simply portrays love as the tender moments of holding someone’s hand and being close with them. while it examines the negative impact we’re leaving on the earth like capitalism, over-consumption, and pollution, despite the irony of being a Disney film, it also examines the simple beauty of humanity. the artistic movements and the joys of being alive. getting to love each other on this planet. i don’t think a more naively optimistic movie exists, and i think it has every right to be this hopeful.
