truly the great equalizer for all generations on a conversation about meaningful/less sex

As a **Spider-Man** movie, it still can't hold a candle to something as concise and effective as Raimi's trilogy or TASM, but it gets close... As a **MARVEL Comics' Rag-tag Team of Fighting Friends (Including Spider-Man)! **movie, it's pretty good. As with most Marvel's these days, I found *BND *overstuffed and overstaying its welcome -- BUT, *Tom Holland *and *Zendaya* are pulling off some fascinatingly emotional performances that make you forget about the comic-bookiness of it all.. if only for a few moments. These are my favorite parts of the movie. Some other standouts would be the colors & the creatively choreographed fight scenes. *Brand New Day* is **not **a failure, but it is still only *kinda *a Spider-Man movie. I am getting a little tired of Marvel using its most influential characters as pieces in service of a larger game that, very truthfully, may never pay off. 3.5, but a **high **3.5.

well now I'm a little sad

listen, I'm no scrooge-- I can still appreciate a fun, schlocky shark movie just as much as the next person.. This movie is at its best when it's got over-the-top music stings, overplayed jumpscares, and evil monologues about sea creatures. It's at its worst when it has awful dialogue, a terribly acted lead, and a phony romance that I couldn't give a shit about. The shark stuff was rad. The romance stuff was lame.
