Black Widow
A final love letter to those who grew up with Natasha💌 my #1 girl!!!
Strong, grounded, and more intimate than any other superhero film I’ve seen.
To have an iconic figure like Natasha Romanoff lead a film that directly confronts the sensitivity of human-trafficking and loss of autonomy is a power move!
The dislike for this movie is unfathomable to me. And for what???? ONE poor cgi scene against its entirety??? It stinks of prejudice out here
People will praise the shit show that the Iron Man trilogy can sometimes be (undoubtedly a bore fest on several occasions), but draw the line at this?
Idk, maybe its tone is just definitely a little too mature and honest for the MCU ppl are familiar with. I do love how it goes beyond mere entertainment to address real world problems in a tasteful, realistic manner. U could feel the amount of care and understanding that went into creating this, that it wasn’t just simply picking a cause and making money off of it, but truly grasping the severity of the issue at hand.
I hate to have minor inconsistencies overshadow the film’s narrative. It’s not everyday we get a female-led superhero movie that doesn’t shy away from their humanity and social topics! How often do we get a compelling action movie that is also a commentary on the world, personal traumas/family dynamics, and through a mainstream female superhero at that?
Black Widow will always be a special character to me. She truly paved the way for women in the superhero genre 💖💖💖 younger me would explode if she found out she was getting a solo movie, no matter how late it took :,)
