holy fucking shit.  this is genuinely the most batshit insane horror film i’ve ever watched, and i thought the substance was crazy. first off, a dope ass concept that got me hooked all the way back in like june was the idea of an entire classroom of kids just running into the night. terrifying stuff. then JULIA GARNER??!?! (i will say sometimes her dialogue felt weird but it’s okay it’s julia garner) she gave quite the performance. it genuinely felt like i was there with her. zach cregger outdoes himself, takin that barbarian money and using it WISELY!!! the cinematography is some of the best from this year, the score is haunting, the performances literally almost made me cry. especially the roller coaster of an ending.  tbh, you really had no idea where the film could go, it just keeps on going and going. i adore the way it was structured, what a pleasant surprise. how each perspective adds so much to the story and piles up as we receive more information. like we as the audience investigate with the characters.  what definitively hooked me was that it was gory when it needed to be and it was BLOODY!!! not so much for shock factor but to add realness. that shit just happened and you aren’t spared from seeing it.  props to james tho he was a real one.
