High and Low

One of the best films I've ever seen. My favourite Kurosawa so far - no wonder it was so highly regarded. The shock I had when after securing the ransom agreement I saw that I wasn't even 1 hour in was immeasurable - I was so, unbelievably excited. Tatsuya Nakadai was absolutely impeccable here - one of my favourites I've seen of his. I really want to see 'Face of Another' now. The pacing, the shot selection, the costuming, the sets are all so breathtakingly beautiful.
