The Conjuring
Severely underrated. It’s a horror movie indeed, but that should not stop you from watching it, it shows so much more like the family’s genuine love and them on their way to heal at the end, and Ed and Lorraine’s relationship that is just incredibly powerful. It is surprisingly rare also, to have a loving, genuine and healthy relationship depicted like that in cinema.
Both Patrick and Vera were really perfect for their roles. Vera’s acting is also so underrated because it’s really chilling — every time she screams I have my mouth wide open.
It nailed the horror themes with both screamers and long anxious moments. I enjoyed also how you can see it genuinely takes a toll on them, even more on Lorraine, and then Ed who’s just constantly worried for her. I have to say I was truly disappointed once I realised things weren’t like that in real life, but as this is the movie, for me it’s perfect. And Lorraine Warren herself approved it so why couldn’t I?
