Things Megamind (2010) is: - genuinely hilarious- clever as hell at every turn- a great parody of superheroes- deep as fuck- relatable as fuck- well animated- paced perfectly- a wonderful romance- a powerful meditation on purpose, the meaning of heroism, what we do with power and who we give it to- relevant and accurate sociocultural and political commentary about how society makes our own heroes- big ideas about the danger of directly and radically opposed political parties and administrations Things Megamind (2010) has:- an amazing soundtrack- what I believe to be the best vocal performance in all of film by Will Ferrell- rich & complex characters- quotes that are in my mind basically all the time- representation for skinny flamboyant weirdos who are evil (me) - super impressive world building- great art design- an awesome cast (Ferrell, Pitt, Fey & Hill? Cross???)- a really great Marlon Brando impression- a terrific twist- limitless and super refreshing creativity that doesn’t exist in family film anymore
