Superman

While I'm not the biggest comic book lothario who's never in a rush to see big event movies such as these, I am always for supporting new talent in iconic superhero roles (between David Corenswet in the leading role of Supes and some guy named Clarence as the new Captain America). Thankfully, I had a blast watching this one unfold. There's an equal amount of fast-paced, action-heavy splendor and heartfelt, vulnerable moments throughout. Corenswet is a fantastic Supes and really made the role his own without straying too far from the origin. The rest of the cast is great too, very in tune and intertwined with the storyline, with standouts such as Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Nicholas Hoult as the ever-so-bald-and-ruthless Lex Luthor. Even the damn dog - ahem, Krypto - did a good job. Definitely worth the watch, and I'll revisit it later after going through older Superman films again.
