A movie carried by set design fr because everything else was just kinda fine. It wasn't particularly scary, a decent amount of tension at times, but really it was just intriguing to see the visuals they could come up with. Story was fairly bland.
The acting was solid and the score was able to underpin the eerie atmosphere but nothing was overly fear inducing, which isn't an issue necessarily but I feel it was disappointing. Really I just loved seeing all the unique and interesting sets which really shined and are what created almost all of the films intrigue. The expansion on this concept works well enough but it does feel as if they never fully fleshed out the over arching story that keeps you wanting more. I thought the found footage section was arguably the most "scary" but I don't think it would have been good had it been the entire film. That wouldn't have given the film enough space to fully explore the idea visually which is more important imo.
I could see more films being made to expand this more but I'd need to see some more thought put behind its narrative. Solid directorial debut though with a great eye for the visuals.
