Bugonia
Yorgos is an absolute fucking genius. This man just effortleslly pumps out masterpieces like it is nothing. This movie has once again shown me that the Best Actor race for this Oscar season is one of the best we have seen in literal YEARS. Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Aidan Delbis were all absolutely incredible. It legitimately shocks me that this was Aidan’s first film, like oh my god, this guy is going places. I do think Emma Stone is most likely getting another Oscar and Jesse Plemons is for sure putting his hat into the ring. Also from a technical standpoint, I just love how this film looks and sounds. Robbie Ryan being behind the camera is slowly becoming one of my top modern cinematographers currently working. His use of close-ups and dollys is truly amazing. The lighting and color grading is so beautiful as well and is for sure one of my favorite looking films of the year. And with a greatly profounding score that backs this film up, Jerskin Fendrix is on an absolute tear. At the end of the day, this film should cement Yorgos as one of the best currently working directors of our generation.
