Flow
Kind of crazy to think that I thought I was going to end my day with Longlegs being my favorite movie of 2024, but that's what I get for waiting so long to witness the cutest movie I've ever seen. I am absolutely in love with this film. One of the biggest things that this film does that I truly wish that other animated films do more of is the fact that it actually plays around with the cinematography and where to place the camera. Animation, as a medium, is always going to be evolving, like the art and the style itself being the biggest examples of this. But with current animated feature films, what I wish that they would do more is for them to recognize that they are an animated film and thus, they have the ability to truly play around with the camera in ways that a live-action film can't (or at the very least is very difficult for them to do). Particularly 3D films as they have so much more wiggle room and quite literally have damn near infinite space to really play with the actual vision of the film itself. Moving on, I really love the fact that this film is made out of a free program, and not just one gigantic studio that is trying to pump out a film to meet deadlines. Gints took his time with this film and you can clearly see it and it pays off exponentially. Also, the story itself is really great and without a doubt, 10 out of 10 times, I will choose to never have any dialogue within this film.
