It
To be honest, I was not expecting this movie to be better than the 2017 film, but low and behold, it is. Granted, I think the biggest thing that helps with that situation is the fact that this is compiled to one feature rather than the newest ones being two movies. I was also really shocked with how elaborate this movie is in terms of its set design and overall effects, with it being a TV movie from 1990. Not to mention, I was pleasantly surprised with the camera work in this movie as Tommy Lee Wallace does not let the constraints of a TV movie budget and format confine him from having an active camera and having these great push-ins and pull-outs and just an overall fun way to present the story. I also think it does a better job with the relationship that the children have than the 2017 movie, but I think the chemistry between the adult versions of themselves is worse in this movie than it is in the newer ones. Lastly, Tim Curry was really really good in this movie, he's definitely funnier than Bill Skarsgård's rendition of Pennywise, but I think he still is worse overall than Bill in terms of Pennywise as a character.
