The Lost Boys

Watched this movie for the first time a few months ago. Since then, i’ve watched it 4 more times. i love it so much. being made in the 80’s you can’t expect CGI like we have now. Instead the vampires monsterous faces are madeusing prosthetics. i this this actually makes it look more realistic and let’s the film hold up today. when rewatching this, you don’t feel that weirdness you do when watching cgi from the early 2000’s (scorpion king i’m looking in your direction). bring back shitty, but actually amazingly done, prosthetics !! the characters are all well done. from their personalities to the costume designs. everyone in this movie is unapologetically themself. even Marko, Dwayne, and Paul. despite them having few lines in the movie, you can still get a grasp of their personalities based on their clothing and actions. I would have loved an ending where the lost boys survived and only the head vampire was taken down. I know i’m probably not supposed to root for the “bad guys” but i’m on their side for life. regardless, this is still a wonderful film. the whole atmosphere of this movie and the town of “Santa Carla” gives me a massive amount of comfort. it even gives me a sense of nostalgia, despite not being alive in this era. amazing movie and will forever be one of myfavorites. its fun being a vampire
