Martyrs

Kinda profound towards the end, the third act made me realise that I’m so desensitised to this crap. While I’ll always be in support of being able to show anything on screen there should be proportional reasoning for the suffering (à la “ Come and See”).  This does tread on that line a litttle bit and the final scene does show some explanation. I just don’t like the reasoning and i think the idea of doing that to a person to find out what’s next is a stupid and pointless endeavour. While the characters themselves are broken, they do act illogically so many times. I mean they show concern in making calls from the house but then she goes on to make another ? And why are they still there man, it’s pretty stupid and muddies the waters of what is a genuinely cool bond shown between the leads.
