Interstellar
Powerful.
I haven’t rewatched this in many years (probably 10 to be exact). My memory had faded and I had forgotten how amazing this film is.
Maybe my opinion changed over the years since becoming a father, I don’t know, but Coopers experience with his children is moving! Every scene with his kids is so emotional. I bawled my eyes out so many times. I was sooo excited to rewatch and honestly couldn’t wait for the scene where time was physically presented to coop. My expectations and memory was so high but by the time that scene came… my expectations were still blown away. It was far better than I ever remembered.
This is Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece. The story is perfect. Matthew McConaughey is amazing. The production design could not get any better and I’m serious. Worth noting that Hoyte really has such an impact on my love for cinematography.
This is the masterclass on pacing. It’s pretty rare you get a blockbuster with this level of dedication to script and story. Every moment is necessary. Not a second wasted.
Hans Zimmer brought the magic to each scene. Every note was impactful. Every moment of silence that he defined, equally powerful.

Funny story. When I saw this the night is premiered in theaters, I choked on a “Wonka Shockers” right in the middle of the scene where cooper enters the black hole. I was choking so bad and making the worst possible choking noises in a packed theater. I was stuck in the middle of a row and literally could not get out. It was hilariously uncomfortable on many levels haha. Could. It be worse timing either haha.
