There Will Be Blood
Daniel Day Lewis sinks into roles like Mystique does in the X-Men.
Like if you had to pick the best scene in this movie you would probably be trying to pick for a while.
Whether it's the iconic "I'VE ABANDONED MY CHILD" or "BASTARD FROM A BASKET"
My personal favorite is the "I drink your milkshake". Not only does it flip Eli Sunday's forcing of Daniel to repent on its head. Daniel manipulates Eli into believing he would actually give him 100K to drill on the land. He forces Eli to give up his faith in god and then kills him. Abandoning him from god and then humiliating him and then killing him extremely powerful.
The blocking is also amazing for instance the beach scene with Daniel's "Brother" his body at the end of the scene is covered in shade until he lifts his head out of the shade. Hinting at his death from a Gunshot to the head a few scenes later.
The 1st 15 minutes are amazing as well seeing Daniel's rise from a solo silver Miner to an Oil Tycoon competing with the likes of Standard oil is great.
Lastly, I have to mention the scene where Daniel has H.W. kidnapped the structure is insane as well as the blocking. Not only does it show how influential Daniel is where he can control when a train leaves and kidnapping his son it also shows how Daniel only truly cares about one thing. HIS SUCCESS
