Incendies
i've been hesitant to rewatch Incendies because i was certain that it couldn't live up to the transcendent state of awe that the final act left me in the first time around - turns out i was completely wrong. knowing where we end up somehow just made this even more of a visceral experience & put me in a constant state of agitation throughout. i'm not sure how to explain it other than by saying it's the kind of feeling where you don't know whether you've been violently hyperventilating or not taken a single breath - but it ends up being irrelevent because either way, you're left on the verge of passing out.
(Villeneuve has made so many films that i adore but there is no doubt in my mind that Incendies is his magnum opus)
