WALL·E
Someone uploaded this in its entirety on YouTube in the year of our lord 2024 and I started watching it only out of surprise that it was still up 2 days after its upload. It’s been a few years and I figured what the hell I’ll watch it for 5-15 minutes. I did not expect to watch this thing in its entirety in 360p at 3AM.
Goddamn, I really forgot just how good this is. Managing to craft an engaging protagonist who’s just a dumpy little robot with a vocabulary of two words is really a masterclass in just how emotive and expressive they’ve managed to make Wall-E. From the second he shows up on screen you immediately empathize and want him to win. There are hundreds of thousands of films that can’t even manage that with real people over the course of two hours let alone 5 minutes. The story flows so effortlessly and stays entertaining every second of every minute of its runtime. Everything is so well done I don’t know how I went so many years just assuming I simply liked this movie and not realizing how much of a gem it truly is.
Easily one of Pixar’s best right next to my all time favorites. This is a mandatory watch for anyone even close as miserable as I am. This shit brought me close to tears like four times. Fucking nonverbal robits. Insane.
