Okay, I wasn’t expecting anything crazy. I’m actually so baffled by the events of the last half of the movie that I can’t completely understand the plot. I’m literally unable to form proper thoughts or critically analyze everything that’s happened throughout.Let me start by Don’s character. I felt like his silence and so few spoken words were expressive enough. Adding a neurodivergent character was a huge addition to both the plot and the overall vibe of the movie. I felt so maternal towards him that I predicted his death seconds prior because his last words really gave it away.To me, this movie is purely political, and that’s why I stand by the ideology that art is always political. It moves your thoughts and makes you inquire. The ending of this movie was genuinely insane. I actually believed that Michelle wasn’t an alien until the ending; she was truly convincing. I just found myself mostly conflicted with my emotions and thoughts the whole time.
I’m just so confused how this movie wasn’t spoken about enough. It truly deserves more hype. I loved all the blend of themes and genres. This film is a cinematic masterpiece, and I never thought I’d form this opinion when I started the movie.
