La Jetée
My photography class final had a similar concept to this, where we had to take 8–10 photos that told a story. However, in La Jetée, the entire narrative is conveyed through photographs and still frames, except for that one scene of the woman. I think it’s genuinely beautiful how images can communicate so much. At the same time, they make you reflect more, because at the end of the day, still photographs can never capture what moving images can. I feel like this film highlights our inability to escape fate. It follows us no matter how desperately we try to change it.
