Obsession

i’ll keep it at 4 stars for now since i still have very, very, very mixed feelings about this movie. idk if i LOVE it or HATE it. i don’t think there’s an in between for me, i don’t think i can simply like or dislike it, it’s either hate or love. now that that’s out of the way. this movie is one of the best portrayals of what most women have to deal with and the reality of how little some men value or treat women. people who didn’t get the message are shallow as fuck and mostly men too, no surprise!!! bear literally raped her, made her go through literal hell for his own pleasure, and was so fucking dumb and delusional about it. and guess what? after all of that, he was selfish enough to kill himself instead of killing her, which honestly would’ve been way more merciful than rebuking the wish. this whole month i’ve been having the “i want a boyfriend” phase but i think men are very disappointing creatures and this movie portrays that feeling perfectly. visually it was an okay movie, nothing super special. yet again i just have very mixed emotions. i’ve never felt every single emotion, both negative and positive, at the same time like this before. horror and comedy, romance and fiction, everything felt so weird and unfamiliar. it genuinely made me feel insane but i think that was the whole point of the movie, to make you feel everything all at once. update : i think it deserves a 5 star purely bc of the message it’s conveying
