Frank
Frank, you remain a delight to me. Your music means a lot to this very day. I think about you a lot, and I think that’s why I have difficulty revisiting you. You never leave my mind.
This is the third time I’ve seen this movie since my initial viewing 3 years ago. A little fun tidbit, “I love you all” was my top song on Spotify in 2022. The raw portrayal of these characters really stands out to me.
It might not be the thing for everyone and I get that. Erratic characters that are hardly developed but to be quite “Frank” with you, we don’t need that type of writing in this movie. It is about the sincerity of what people can do when they are allowed to just be a human being. The performative seed that is implanted into modern day man has truly spoiled what art could be.
Trying to juxtaposition a version of yourself that creates for an audience compared to one that would just create because it has to means that real intentions often get put at the wayside. I seek the freaks and geeks that allow no shame nor cowardice to rule over themselves. Anything you create for yourself is the most important piece of art anyone can do.
True creation has no need for recognition nor acceptance, just the act of creating itself is what is needed. I learn this lesson as I get older, and actually start creating more and more art myself. I paint now and I’m not very good at it objectively, but subjectively I am the best artist to ever grace the planet. Love what you make and what has made you. We all need a little reminder that we are all Frank. A little freedom we allow ourselves goes quite a ways. Once more, and I don’t think this will ever change, I love you all.
