Obsession
Ever since I watched this movie, I have not been able to stop thinking about it, and, after a rewatch, I can confidently say that this is movie of the year for me so far.
I want to start by mentioning how amazing the score for this film is. WOW...just WOW. The score genuinely gave me goosebumps throughout the film and elevated the emotions in each scene. I better see Rock Burwell get the recognition he deserves for this stellar music score.
This movie really feels like a passion project, as every department does an incredible job; not to mention that the budget for this film was incredibly low. I found the storytelling, dialogue, lighting, cinematography, sound, editing, performances, blocking, and attention to detail so well crafted. And it is this passion that I felt which made me love the movie so much.
I also want to mention Inde Navarrette's performance. WHAT A PERFORMANCE! She is definitely my pick for best actress of the year so far.
And the ending...what can I say? Absolutely insane ending...I loved it.
Curry Barker, at 26 years old, with his debut film, has already made history in cinema by breaking many box-office records. Truly outstanding. Great writing, directing, and editing...did you know he also edited the movie?!?!?...Insane!
I love horror, and I love bleak cinema, so this was a perfect movie for me.
