Give the director and screen writer an Oscar. You know what? Give everyone involved in this perfect film one while you’re at it. Like, YES. Personify the house and have it haunt the narrative. YES. Use the vase as a metaphor and a nod to the title. YES. Use camera angles that don’t make sense but work perfectly. YES YES YES.
