Pride & Prejudice
I have yet to move on from this movie and I literally cannot fathom how beautiful it is. from the script to the chemistry, I have never been so enamored by a film in so long.
I saw that this film was getting a rescreening and I wanted my first experience to be in the theater. I wish I could go back to the theater and see it again because I couldn’t believe what I was watching.
This was a moving piece of cinema, while it is a romance film and of course they can be emotional and terrific, this movie is nothing like any other movie I’ve seen. This is a one of a kind film that exceeded my expectations, I can’t stop rewatching it over and over again.
The acting in this is incredible, the chemistry is insane, and the cast is too good. Matthew Macfadyen blew me away with the way he was able to express his emotions simply through his eyes. The sorrow, the sadness, and the admiration he had for Elizabeth was shown through his eyes— he didn’t need to say a single word. The improvisation of the hand flex is also driving me insane because of how perfect it was for that scene. Keira Knightley is also just so good, the way she spits out the dialogue to Mr. Darcy had me in shambles. The way she expresses her anger and frustration is just too perfect.
The dialogue in this movie kills me though, I literally cannot believe that these words are spoken so naturally between two people. The love confessions from Mr. Darcy broke my heart because, how am I supposed to live my life knowing he said all of that? The words used to just confess their love for one another makes me wonder why can’t love be this moving, daring, and utterly perfect? It’s like I expect love just like the way this film depicts it, but that’s not realistic obviously. Hell, it’s 2025 you think someone would confess their love to me that beautifully? Absolutely not.
What I’m trying to say is that romance is dead and I wish I had someone to love me like Mr. Darcy! Need a confession just like that ASAP! Yearning men need to be brought back in 2025 thanks!
