Licorice Pizza
I group movies in two categories:
A. Movies about the action.
B. Movies about the characters.
In my opinion this is a great example of B. Nothing really happens, nothing of substance at least. It's all just seemingly unrelated events that the characters go through. What matters is the characters, their reaction to the events is the whole point. Neither Alana or Gary really grow. Alana is still the same lost girl just with a better job and Gary is still a young schemer. Even though they have each other now we as the audience know that it's most likely not going to last. This is young love in it's purest form.
