Freaky Friday
Without a doubt my favorite Not-Animated Disney film. One of the most wholesome and fulfilling movies I’ve ever seen with a great sense of purpose and humor. A great ensemble, truly a gift that keeps on giving. Some of my favorite performances from Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, the two give this their all and the two phenomenally embodied Each-Other.
The comedy within the film is iconic and will forever be ingrained in pop culture, the soundtrack is unbeaten and I’m foaming at the mouth at the thought of potentially hearing “Take Me Away” in Theaters on Tuesday when I see the long anticipated by Me sequel.
Had “Take Me Away” been on streaming prior to the new films release it without a doubt would be my most streamed Disney song of all time, I would watch this movie as a child just to hear that song. This has always been a film I had held close, I watched two VHS copies of the movie until they no longer worked because of my sheer obsession with this movie. This is and will remain perfect to me and every viewing is a blessing to me because this is my top Comfort movie ever: I always laugh/ Cry/ panic alongside the characters like I’m watching it for the first time. This brings a warmth to me unmatched by anything else I’ve ever loved.
Only flaw would be the Chad Michael Murray ‘Jake plot where he realizes he likes Anna but only after she is in her Mother’s Body and grows obsessed with Tess, which made for a lot of intentionally cringe worthy and uncomfortable scenes (that I still laugh at).
