Dogville

This movie shook me to my core. I swore off Lars von Trier films after I watched Antichrist which I despised but this film interested me enough to watch it. This is a masterpiece. Yes, Lars von Trier is a humongous asshole but what he did here is awe inspiring and masterful. It's wonderfully paced and stripped back with the production design leaving only it's basic elements. Every character is written as their own person and as despicable as the next. It disturbed me in many ways and had a foreboding atmosphere throughout even in scenes that were simple on the surface.
