Interstellar
Just finished this in IMAX and I don’t think anything is ever going to top this on a cinematic level. It was just unreal throughout the entire runtime in ways that I can’t even describe. I don’t think any other film has managed to bring out such a wide range of emotions as this one, from overwhelming anxiety and anger to hopefulness and heartbreak, to awe and inspiration. And they were all get to the max. Some of the greatest scenes ever were in this film with it making me feel everything that happened on screen that I was so tense throughout all the high stakes scenes that I was intensely gripping the arm rest. It’s not often that a movie can movie me emotionally as much as this one but oh boy it does, it even brought me to tears like 6 times. You can’t talk about Interstellar without mentioning its cinematography and visuals. Nothing short of breathtaking. The experience in IMAX was one of the most incredible things over ever witnessed, every frame of the film was shot to perfection and immersed me in a way that made the scale and intensity of everything on screen feel real. The way it deals with love and how it transcends time and space and ultimately love being the thing that saves the human race is a beautiful touch. It also deals with sacrifice, survival and even more complex ideas like 5th dimensional beings and time dilation, love is the driving force behind it all.
Interstellar fuels my wonder and contemplation about space and time like nothing else does and I find myself just looking into the stars for hours on end thinking about the endless possibilities and the vastness and scale of what’s out there with this film helping drive that curiosity. And to go along with this, listening to that incredible Hans Zimmer score while doing so makes it that much better. It elevates every scene to the next level and is so incredible. Interstellar is a flawless masterpiece in my eyes and will always hold a place in my heart for how profound and powerful it is.
