If there’s one director I can trust with writing a lesbian asian film, it’s Alice Wu. More than just a queer romance, it tackles the issue of trying to “save face” for your family—trying to be the perfect daughter. Overall, It’s a love story between a mother and daughter as they navigate the different struggles they share individually. I’m happy that Wil and Vivian got their happy ending.

a beautiful heartbreaking film! would never watch again because i feel so broken after this. would highly recommend 4/5 cuz it took some for me to get hooked

finally out of my movie watching slump #fakecinephile BUT this movie was so heartbreaking. i couldn’t even hate on p*ul m*sc*l /lovingly. both perspectives (agnes’s and william’s) were heartbreaking and i understood why. it’s so centric towards agnes and i love it. jessie buckley, you deserve that oscar. only 4 though cuz movie started off slow.

a very entertaining movie with a crazy twist. i’m glad it worked out in the end.
